SIP Exit Load Calculator

Every SIP instalment buys units on its own date, so each has its own exit-load period. See which instalments a redemption would take (oldest first), the exit load on the ones still inside their load period, how much you can redeem today with no load at all, and the date the whole amount becomes load-free — including graded loads.

Units are redeemed first-in, first-out: the oldest instalments go first, and they're the ones most likely to be past the load period.

Redeeming up to ₹80,801 today would avoid the exit load altogether.

While the SIP keeps running, every new instalment starts a fresh load period — the 6 Oct 2027 date assumes no more are added.

Values are estimates at the return you entered; your statement's value will differ a little.

How this is calculated

Exit load = Σ (value redeemed from instalment i × load % for its age), instalments taken oldest first; You receive = Redemption value − Exit load

Age
Days from the instalment's own date to the redemption date
Load %
Tier 1 if age ≤ its period, else tier 2 if age ≤ its period, else 0
Value
Instalment × (1 + return)^(age ÷ 365), or your statement's value shared out the same way

A SIP isn't one purchase but many: each instalment is allotted units at that day's NAV and starts its own exit-load clock. When you redeem, the fund takes the oldest units first (first-in, first-out), so a redemption usually mixes old, load-free units with recent ones that still carry the load. The load is a percentage of the redemption value of only those recent units — at the rate for their age if the fund has a graded load. The table shows each instalment, how much of it this redemption takes and the load on it.

Assumptions & sources

  • Units are redeemed first-in, first-out, as Indian mutual funds do.
  • 'Within N days' is counted from each instalment's date: redeeming on day N or earlier attracts that tier's load.
  • An instalment due on a weekend or holiday is treated as allotted on its scheduled date; actual allotment may be a day or two later.
  • Instalments on the 29th–31st fall on the last day of shorter months.
  • Units from reinvested dividends (IDCW) usually carry no exit load; they aren't included here.
  • Capital gains tax on the redemption is separate and not included.

Common questions

Is exit load charged on the whole SIP?

No. Each instalment has its own date, so only the units bought within the load period (commonly the last 12 months) attract it — and only if the redemption reaches them.

Which units are redeemed first?

The oldest (first-in, first-out). Redeeming a small amount from a long-running SIP usually takes only load-free units.

How can I avoid the exit load?

Redeem no more than the 'load-free today' amount, or wait until the date shown, when every instalment you'd redeem has passed its load period.

What is a graded exit load?

A load that falls with time, for example 1 % within 365 days and 0.5 % from 366 to 730 days. Enter the second tier under More options.

Does stopping the SIP remove the load?

No — stopping only means no new load periods start. Units already bought keep their own load periods until they run out.
