Trip Fuel Cost Calculator
Work out how much fuel a journey needs and what it costs from the distance, your vehicle's fuel economy (km/l, L/100 km or mpg) and the fuel price — for a one-way or round trip, with tolls and parking, the cost per km and the share for each traveller.
Your inputs
Quick start — try a typical case
From your trip computer or the mileage calculator. City driving is usually 20–30 % worse than highway.
Your result Live
Trip Cost
₹5,407
₹4,807 fuel + ₹600 tolls & parking for 700 km
- Fuel Needed
- 46.7 litres · 12.3 US gal
- Fuel Cost per km
- ₹6.87 · ₹11.05 per mile
- Your Fuel Economy
- 15 km/l · 6.67 L/100 km · 35.3 mpg (US) · 42.4 mpg (UK)
Real-world economy depends on traffic, speed, load and air-conditioning; add 10–15 % for a margin on long trips.
How this is calculated
Fuel = distance ÷ economy · Cost = fuel × price + tolls · Per person = cost ÷ travellers
- 1 mile
- 1.609 km · 1 US gallon = 3.785 L · 1 UK gallon = 4.546 L
- L/100 km
- 100 ÷ km per litre
Divide the distance by how far your vehicle goes on one litre to get the fuel needed, then multiply by the fuel price. Doubling the distance for a round trip and adding tolls gives the full cost, which you can split between travellers.

Common questions
How do I calculate fuel cost for a trip?
Distance ÷ mileage × fuel price. 700 km at 15 km/l is 46.7 litres; at ₹103 a litre that's about ₹4,807.
How do I convert mpg to km/l?
Multiply US mpg by 0.425 (or UK mpg by 0.354). 30 mpg (US) ≈ 12.75 km/l.
