How this is calculated
Net worth = Σ assets (market value) − Σ liabilities (outstanding)
- Liquid assets
- Cash, bank balances, shares, mutual funds and FDs
- Debt-to-asset
- Total liabilities ÷ total assets
Net worth is a snapshot of your financial position: tracking it every 6–12 months shows whether you are building wealth. Liquid assets matter for emergencies; a home you live in adds to net worth but can't easily pay bills, which is why the figure excluding your property is shown too.
Assumptions & sources
- Values are what you enter, at today's prices — no taxes or selling costs are deducted.
- 'Liquid' means cash, bank balances, shares, mutual funds and FDs; EPF/PPF/NPS, property, gold and vehicles are treated as not liquid.

Common questions
Should I include my home?
Yes, at a realistic market value — and its loan as a liability. Because you can't spend your home without moving, the calculator also shows net worth excluding property.
What is a healthy debt-to-asset ratio?
Lower is safer. Below about 30 % is comfortable for most households; above 50 % means most of what you own is financed by debt.
How often should I calculate it?
Every 6 or 12 months is enough. The trend matters more than the number on any single day.
