GPA & CGPA Calculator (with CGPA to Percentage)
Calculate your semester GPA (SGPA) from course credits and grades on the Indian 10-point scale or the US 4.0 scale, combine semesters into a credit-weighted CGPA, and convert a CGPA to a percentage with the CBSE/UGC (× 9.5), AICTE or your own university's formula.
Your inputs
Quick start — try a typical case
Type a letter grade from the scale (O, A+, A … or A, A-, B+ …) or the grade points directly.
Use the formula printed on your mark sheet or given by your university — they differ.

- CBSE/UGC × 9.5; AICTE (CGPA − 0.75) × 10; others per university
Each course's grade is turned into grade points and weighted by its credits, so a 4-credit course counts twice as much as a 2-credit one. A semester's result is the SGPA; combining semesters the same way gives the CGPA. Indian institutions convert CGPA to a percentage with their own formula — this shows the common ones side by side.

Common questions
How do I calculate SGPA?
Multiply each course's credits by its grade points, add them up, and divide by the total credits. 4 credits of A+ (9) and 3 credits of A (8) give (36 + 24) ÷ 7 = 8.57.
How do I convert CGPA to percentage?
Use your institution's formula: CBSE and many UGC universities multiply by 9.5; AICTE uses (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. An 8.4 CGPA is 79.8 % (× 9.5) or 76.5 % (AICTE).
Is CGPA the average of SGPAs?
Only if every semester has the same credits. Otherwise it's a credit-weighted average, which this calculator uses.
